ABB MSG Preshow 4/15
I’m super-stoked to be co-hosting a preshow hang for the Brothers’ Madison Square Garden shows.
The party’s host is my dear friend of many years, my ABBrother, the Chairman, Gary Wonwayout—whose ABBeacon preshows at the Gin Mill were legendary.

“In Memory of Elizabeth Reed” 2/28/25
Sent this last week, sharing again in case you missed it1—an ABBsolutely incendiary take on Liz Reed, the only time the four Allman Brothers shared the stage at the Dickey tribute. I have it queued up to the start of the song: right about the 2 hour mark.
Love is everywhere
Long Live the ABB: Conversation from the Crossroads of Southern music, history, and culture is my effort to discuss the South and its immense influence on America. I began this quest to help me better understand who I am and where I come from as a Southerner living and working in the South.
I’m using skills honed in history museums and sites to look at these intersections from one specific lens: the Allman Brothers Band.
The ABB are my gateway drug to a more robust discussion of Southern music, history, and culture. I am reaching folks where they are, providing a lot of material across social media—more than 65,000 followers across all platforms.

Substack is home for all of that effort
Long Live the ABB: Conversation from the Crossroads hit the Hot 100 a couple of weeks ago. I hit the Top 40 recently and seen an uptick in paid subscriptions.
Sharing thoughts from the Southern crossroads I inhabit literally and metaphorically. Paid subscriptions underwrite the cost for me to bring all of this conversation forward.2
Here are other ways to support the conversation from the crossroads.
