A quick note from the engine room…
Documenting a little trek to my home state, the Sunshine State, where I got a wonderful (FULL) dose of music and the love it brings out of and nurtures within our souls.
I recorded a couple of tracks with my band Jam Depression for a long-dormant project we’ve been playing around with for years.1 Followed that with the EPIC hang with the Steeln’ Peaches family. (Documented in the attached video.)
I’m tired, but definitely inspired.
Spent the past few days working on various video/audio projects related to the trip: my boy Troy and I ripping “Rail of Fears” and “What For?” with my former college student Fritz on drums2 and this video diary of a super-rad event in my old Central Florida stomping grounds: Steeln’ Peaches 4th bandiversary party.
Chuck Magid reached out to me over Christmas and asked if I would serve as the evening’s Psychedelic Sherpa, providing brief interludes of Allman Brothers history as the band played its set.
It didn’t take me long to say yes. I’ll take most chances I have to participate in an Allman-related live music experience. To help friends celebrate, well that’s a definite yes!
I recorded the live presentation and offer them to you here with a few edits.3

I am grateful to and for you.
Going back 4 decades plus in some cases. Most of “What For?” came from three songs I wrote with my hardcore punk band the Degenerates, circa 1987 in Stuart, Florida.
Also producer and engineer.
