Hi Bob. Nice tribute. Jules really had to work thru those ABB recordings to match the video (some of which I've owned since 1990).
Looking at Jack's fingering, it looks like a D chord with C and A as well. Was he tuned down? Maybe? I don;t have a guitar with me right now to compare.
Speaking of rare ABB video, don;t forget 5/1/71 UNC Chapel Hill "Done Somebody Wrong" and Schaefer Fest Done Somebody Wrong. There is also the ending of Liz Reed and parts of Hot Lanta out there from Schaefer. I had them 30 years ago but I don;t know if anyone has digitized them, or I haven;t seen them on YouTube a while.
Thanks Chuck. It flummoxes me that we have more video from 1970 than 1971, when they were at their ABBsolute hottest as a touring and live band. I can never remember what video is what in 1971--and have never had either of them that I know of. Perhaps because it's two DSW's is why I can't?
Thanks. What an amazing band!!! I scored tix today to see Allman- Betts in June. Those poor guys have to play in a big, long shadow, no matter how good they are. Not that that is a bad thing. But those are some big shoes.....
It's nuts that I found *your* comment on his Youtube page. Over on Instagram, a guy who plays in Twiggs (an ABB cover band from Australia) knew & played with Jules in the UK.

Hi Bob- here's that video I mentioned above of Schaefer that has more footage of Liz Reed and Hot Lanta: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYCtcwBU0lU
In thinking about it, I’m pretty sure the guitar was in open Bb and Jack was tuned down a whole step.
Thanks. What an amazing band!!! I scored tix today to see Allman- Betts in June. Those poor guys have to play in a big, long shadow, no matter how good they are. Not that that is a bad thing. But those are some big shoes.....
A beautiful tribute my friend!
Jules was a wonderful man, thank you.
