Sending this one out as a special thank you for paid subscribers to Long Live the ABB.

I picked this up a few months back: the official band biography for Win, Lose, or Draw press kits. Jim Pettigrew, Jr. is the author.

There’s quite a bit of hyperbole in here—particularly considering the band broke up about 9 months later. But hyperbole was the name of the game when selling records, and Phil Walden was a master of the genre. (Even if he didn’t write this particular piece.)

Of note, this bio was issued around the same time Tom Nolan was doing interviews for his book, which I have been annotating and publishing in serial form. There are some similar threads for sure.

I’ll say more about this piece at some point, but I didn’t want that to hold up me sharing it with y’all.

Thank you for being paid subscribers. I am truly grateful.
